University of South Wales Rated Top 5%

There are around 20,000 high education institutions worldwide and every year the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings rate the top 1,000 institutions. As a collaborative partner of the University of South Wales, we’re delighted that they have again been rated within this top 5% of elite universities in 2019.

The THE rankings are the only global university performance tables which judge research-intensive universities across all of their core missions:

  • Teaching
  • Research
  • Knowledge transfer
  • International outlook

The University performed especially well in the ‘citations’ and ‘industry income’ categories. This reflects positively on the significance of the University’s applied research activities. The ‘citations’ category refers to the number of times a university’s published research work is cited by academics and scholars globally and ‘industry income’ refers to the research income an institution earns from industry. Its position in this internationally renowned league table reflects its growing reputation for applied research.
